Just having a nose round the net for indies to do my next service, which is the biggie, an Insp. 2.

I had a look (ouy of curiosity really) at www.nationwideautocentres.co.uk .

They 3 grades of servicing, inerim, full and major. I looked at the 2 yearly one, the major, and I got an estimate (not a quote) of £187.00 !!!!!!

The service includes brake fluid changing, oil and filter, coolant flushing and changing etc, as well as a million checks. Obviously I would expect there to be some hidden extras, but even if they added to a couple of hundred quid is this not a good deal ?

I know that a FBMWSH is the dogs bollox when it comes the time to sell, but for oil, coolant, brake fluid etc, what the hell ? Is BMW going to give you better water and antifreeze than anyone else ?

I fully agree that OEM parts are the best way to go, but if these guys done the service and told you that x,y or x needed changed/fixed, then you could go to your favourite dealer/indie afterwards.

Does anyone else think this is worth considering....?
