iPodded at last !
Discussion
I've finally moved into the 21st century
Got me a shiny new 80GB iPod and a Dension IceLink Plus for my 330Ci, and I am pretty chuffed with the result (bearing in mind I've got the naff standard speakers). Everything worked 1st time.
I must admit I nearly dehydrated myself doing it, I was sweating conkers pulling the inside of my motor to bits lol.
I went for the discreet install; shoved the iPod in the wee box below the heater controls. This gives me some smug satisfaction that I'm the only one who knows it's there
The only problem I had (which caused a good deal more perspiration), was getting the bloody head unit back in where it belonged. Bearing in mind that there are 2 extra big sockets and loads of extra wires now behind it. First time the unit was an inch from home, a faff with the wires at the back and it was half an inch, another fiddle and it was back to inch ad nauseum...
3/4 of an hour it took me to get it in In the end I got it about a 1/16 of an inch from home and used the screws to get it in the rest. I hope the squashed wires at the back dont start rubbing and baring gulp. Better get myself a fire extinguisher
Anyway, so far so good, my new heightened sense of smell has not picked up anything yet. Now I need to get the speakers upgraded.
