I HAVE A 2004 2.2 Z4. COULD ANYONE ANSWER ME THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS-
I FIND THE STEERING UNUSUAL, SOMETIMES IT FEELS SLIGHTLY VAGUE AND NUMB,IS THIS NORMAL?
THE CLUTCH HAS A CHATTER WHEN IN FIRST GEAR WHEN GOING VERY SLOW (IE WHEN PUTTING THE CAR IN THE GARAGE). IS THIS NORMAL?
HAS ANYONE EVER FITTED A SCHNITZER EXHAUST BACK BOX.AND IF SO WAS IT DIFFICULT?
DOES IT SOUND ANY BETTER THAN STANDARD?
THANK YOU

Ok,
1. The Z4 has elecrically assisted power steering so a little numbness is quite normal.
2. As for the clutch chatter, I can't say i've ever heard any on a Z4 but if you have warranty on the car get it in to a dealer and if not well keep an eye (ear!) on it; if it gets worse then best get it checked out. (having not examined your car myself can't give an accurate response here).
3. With changing the back box you won't notice a huge difference apart from a slightly deeper exhaust note in general. You certainly won't see significant power gains. Probably quite straight forward to do (never fitted one to Z4, but have to other BMW's), although you may have to cut the standrd box off and join the new one with clamps.
All the best
