330D on biodiesel
Discussion
My owner's handbook says no bio diesel...why is this? Anybody?
Obviously, it IS a performance car and might well be sensitive to fuel quality. I have an enquiring mind and would like to know the details. Does anybody have specific details of their reasoning, please? What are the official views on veg diesel?
Thanks. H

Alledgedly - the high pressure pump seals etc , injectors and the like are not suitable to biofuel.
However - if you check the BMW ETK system for the part number for the pump - it supercedes to a pump that is compatible.
Your choice - your risk.
My 330d regularly returns over 600 miles to a tank a good old diesel.
All the best

How the hell do you manage that? I get about 450 out of mine, used to get about 650 from my old A4 1.9TDi using a similiar amount of right foot. Mine is an auto though and it is still pretty new to me so I enjoying to the full tuffer said:

Mind you - I only return approx 350 per tank when towing the car I use to get the speed out of my system.
Take a look at the profile - I have a picture there from Castle Coombe.

I get 550 miles from a tank doing fast A-roads and M-ways
Drops to 350 in town-commutes.
Chipping made these figures better than before.
