Dreadful runflats
Discussion
So, after recent responses to my query I am considering my next move, to overcome the frustration of listening to the racket from the rubber when roaming the country in my 320d M Sport.
I am running on 17" Bridgestone RFT's [15,000 miles] and would like to know if the fitting of normal rubber is actually a viable option, and what the german chaps say about changing the spec of their supposed ultimate driving machine.
Depending on the response to the above, any recommendations for normal old fashioned boots?
Sell the car and return to an Audi is a definite possibility. [A4 S-Line?]

Richard this is an interesting point you have brought up.
I have just taken delivery as you will see on another thread of a 120D M Sport. It's the latest spec car and is fitted with goodyear rft's. My old 318i M Sport (Sept 06 Model) ran on Bridgestone's like yours and the ride was terrible.
This new 120D is absolutely superb in the ride department (No I am not joking). I also drove a 325D M Sport which wasn't running Bridgestones and it was in a different league to my then new car.
I'm assuming that your tyre pressures are correct (mine weren't on the X5 & Z4 when they were delivered).
I know a lot of people abandon runflats but based on my new car, which Ok has only just been delivered today, I won't be dumping the run flats.

You can swop to non runflats without any problems, the wheel rims are as standard as are runflat tyre sizes.
this is one of the bigest complaints we see is the blasted runflats with their uneven wear and wheel bearing type rumble.
Most of our customers have driven on the runflats til they have worn out and then switched to normal tyres. The feed back is good-gives you a softer ride and alot less noise as you would expect.
The only addition that you will need is a mobility kit(fitted in M3 or MINI)as there is no where to put a spare wheel
