What news ?

BMW don't acknowledge it's existence, but the motoring journo's are placing their orders ...

Hi

My understanding that in order to qualify for an M3CSL, you needed to have sent a fax to BMW GB throguh your dealer stating you that you would like a CSL.

Last week the dealers rang those on the list if you still wanted one

Date of build, specs and cost etc have still to be confirmed

check out www.bm3w.co.uk there have some useful information

The first reviews last year suggested £45k.

Since then I have read £50 and £55k. £60k will be too much since the new GT3 is close to £70k.

How popular do you think it will be at £45k : £50k : £55k ?

Subaru struggled to sell 1000 P1's at £30k --- and it's still reckoned to be the one to own.

Honda sold 1000 of their Integras at £20k.

Renault were intending to make only 400 of the Clio Williams --- and created versions 2 and 3 to the disgust of the original purchasers --- at £13k !

M3CSL may be a little extreme to sell in any real volume, but I should say that unless most go to club racers it will still be price critical.

For £30k one can buy a Caterham Superlight 500.

We shall all have to see. Good luck !

I have to say Iwould be slightly nervous waiting for the spec. The danger is you end up with some watered down lard bucket, exactly what you don't want.

Approx 300 are destined for the UK but even if you are first on the list at your local dealer it doesn't guarantee you a car.

Customers are almost being hand picked, first come first served doesn't work in this case.

Hi Eric.

It should be worth the wait
I think 60K will be the cost, if you compare to cost of the CSL in Switerzland where they are available for order

not fair in the Uk, still waiting

A friend of mine who works for Sytner BMW says no confirmations have been made still.

I will never buy a 2 seater M3, think its pointless, though the wheels on them will be mine!

Definitely four seats, though who would want to be in the back with a serious driver ?
