E46 Facelift; just external changes?

Apart fromt the new front, rear led lights, and different boot lip, were there any other changes?

Depends on the model you are looking at, there where engine changes in the 316, that got a 1.8 engine and the 318 got a 2.0 engine. Also they changed the steering rack but I'm not sure this happened at the point of the facelift??

nearly forgot, the 330d got the upgraded bhp engine too.

Just been looking into this myself and found:

July 00 - 328 replaced by 330

April 01 - quicker steering rack.

September 01 - Facelift with 'up' pointing front indicators. 320d power up from 136 to 150hp. 318 power up from 120 to 140hp.

2003 - six speed box

I have an '04 325ci with a 5 speed box, was it just the diesels that got the 6 speeds?

325Ti also got six speeds.

Also the buttons on the air con panel moved around.

My Dec '03 build 330i has a six speed. I suspect the new spec was from the '04 MY - September '03 onwards. There is often a long delay between build and registration so you may have a car from the tail end of the previous model year. My car was built in December '03 but not registered until the end of April '04.
