BMW 120d M Sport Roadtest
Discussion
Had an hour road testing the new 2007 spec 177bhp beast this weekend, nice little car which suits my commuting needs.
The handling has been sorted out, in the latest spec, very direct and requiring little input, which is good for me as an ex-Caterham racer. The diesel engine does a fabulous job and it feels 0-60 7.5 secs quick which is quoted
As an oldie who dreamed of Golf GTI 2ltr with 115 bhp when I was a teenager a oil burner which is quicker and tries to get 60 mpg is amazing. Being in Group C for company car tax is a plus.
The dealer was unable to match the drivethedeal discount levels of approx 11%, which will help cut the dreaded depreciation down.
Looks much better in 3 doors aswell. Deposit is down.

Ive had one for 8 months now and it suits me fine. Only complaint is the usual with the run flats. They tend to skip over uneven surfaces and it can give you a fright at high speed.
But the car has got plenty of power, good build quality and has a surprisingly decent amount of room when the seats are folded down.
I hope the facelift hasnt hit the residuals of mine too much as I fancy a change at the end of the year!

I had the use of a 120d Sport for about four months, probably the best all round/everyday car I have ever used. Good handling, quick enough, relatively economical, good driving position etc. Fit and finish inside and out seemed good to me.
Need a car soon and definately thinking about getting another 1 series but will probably go for a three door as it would be more suitable, or maybe a used 5 door pre facelift to save a few pennies.

Ive got a brochure here for the 3 door. It really looks to be quite a nice car. If the situation with the Z4C had occurred a couple of weeks later I probably would have had one as I don't really use the rear doors.

Lovely colour combo.
We have an almost identical spec, but mine has the wheel upgrade and I think the Professional Sat Nav, which I think means it has I Drive.
