Autograph?
I think I've heard of Individual spec cars being referred to as Autograph.
Individual spec is a BMW euphumism for 'first owner having more money than sense, and often taste'.
Basically you pay a premium to have it painted and trimmed in any colour combo you like outside of standard offerings - sometimes it works very well, other times it doesn't. An E36 M3 Evo Convertible in Santorini Blue with Red and Blue interior was one shocking combination I remember seeing.
Any pics or links to the car in question?

Hi,
I think 'autograph' is a customisation package done to bm's over the last few years:
I live nearby and have seen such a mark on several cars running around.
They have 'autograph' chrome badge I seem to remember.

Hope this might help.
