Some cars on the BMW AUC site have 'Event' or 'Press Preparation' under the spec list.

Are they 'fessing up that these particular cars have been thrashed either by the press or on track demo days?

"Press preparation" means it will have been used by the magazines, and TV programmes for road and track tests.

I've never seen one listed with "events preparation", but I imagine this will mean it's been used for promotional and publicity events such as motor shows, which probably means a less hectic life than a press car.

I think event preparation means it was a launch event car.

I have seen quite a few press preparation ones. Not sure if I would ever buy one of those, but I would love to know how they differ?

Are they just being very honest indicating these cars may have been hammered before they were run in, or are they obliged to 'fess up?

Have you seen the cars being 'run in' on Top Gear?
