Hi everybody - New car - 335d Coupe
Discussion
Hi all, new to the website so I thought I'd say hello.
I'm 33, male and in the Army. I'm serving in Northern Ireland at the moment but moving out to Germany in a couple of weeks. As I'm overseas I'm able to buy a car tax free so took the plunge and decided to buy a BMW for the first time.
After a few test drives I decided on a 335d Coupe in Space Grey with black leather and the 19" wheels. I take delivery of the car in about four weeks and being the first new car I've bought in a long time, and the first that has cost a hell of a lot of money (too me anyway), I was wondering if anybody can suggest a list of things that I should be extra vigilant about checking when I collect the car.
Really looking forward to hitting the Autobahns and having some fun.
Cheers for any suggestions in advance,
Flash

Does anybody know if it is possible to remove the limiter on the 335d and if so what sort of top end increase this would reveal? Looking at previous posts DMS seem to get a good review for remapping, would this remove the limiter and is it easily reversible so that when the car goes in for a service I can return it to a standard state and not have any warranty issues?
Cant wait to get the car, enjoyed the test drive so much
Hopefully I might even make a bit of money when I sell in 12 months due to the price I got the car for, £30k
Cheers

Hi!
I don't have too much to contribute but wanted to say (firstl) welcome to PH
Secondly, DO check the car thoroughly...mainly paintwork condition (it might be a new BMW, but it's a new BMW that's travelled many miles on a ship/truck/pallet to get to you). Thirdly, great choice of car
(saw one the other day - it's ridiculsouly good looking, I was surprised how much I liked it!)

DMS should be able to sort you out. I wouldn't worry too much about changing it back for servicing - my brother has a chipped Golf GTI that had to go for a new ECU under warranty and they didn't notice it had been touched. Straight replacement...
