Hi folks, my e30 is soon to become surplus to requirements in some respects, however its a cracking very standard original motor and I'm loathed to get rid of it, however I am sorely tempted to turn it into a road legal track day car. Once I've gone through the brakes and suspension work the little 4-pot with 200k on the clock will seem, well a little asthmatic, and i was thinking of a bit of an upgrade.

My thoughts are either a mild upgrade to a the 318is engine or something a bit wilder and in keeping with my V8 addiction putting in a M60/M62 engine. Obviously doing to trawl e30zone and the like but does anyone have any suggestions, hints, tip etc etc

Regards
Iain

I wouldnt botehr with an M42 transplant - Geeman (from e30zone) had a 318iS track slag and suggested it was always found to be lacking a bit of poke.

V8 sounds good!

When you've got the hang of putting a V8 in an E30 can you come and drop one in an E28 for me?
