Just discovered microscopic bubbles of rust on the leading edges of my B and C pillar window trims (the shiny black bits next to the glass) on both sides.
Presumably this will allow my local dealer the opportunity to impress me with their efficiency in honouring the 6 year anti corrosion warranty and sorting it out.
Still not overly impressed that it's happening on a five and a bit year old car in the first place though.

You are talking about the window trim? Had the same on my 2002 M5, the gloss black aluminium trim, was replaced under warranty but you may need to "persuade" them, as they will claim it is (which I suppose is technically correct) trim and therefore not covered.

seems to be a common feature - you will often find it on E39 roof rail channels. Rubbish dealers will insist on calling it wear and tear. Threaten to park a Merc outside their dealership and they may relent!

Hope said Merc is a new one, because a Mercedes of a similar age the front wings will be falling off!
