A friend of mine is looking to buy a 735i, he's seen one particular vehicle but the dealer said no service book was with the car because the 7 series don't have them! When my friend pushed the dealer about the history, the dealer then said he had the reocrds on their computer system and could make him up a new service book with back dated stamps etc. Is this normal (to me sounds rather fishy).

The car in question also had a very shiny drivers seat and steering wheel, it has a claimed 55,000 on the clock but would the seat wear so quickly on a 2002 car?

thanks

With the VIN number you can go to any BMW dealer and they'll look up the history and original spec for you - they don't charge either

Sounds a bit "fishy" as you say
