My new car here at last!!
Discussion
Well after what seemed like a long week or so waiting it's finally here!
It's Sapphire Black 320d Msport saloon, leather heated seats and a couple of other goodies.
And all i can say it's 10 times better than my E46 coupe, better ride, smoother, better turn in, quieter and general refinement is better!
I'm surprised at how good the ride is after my worries of going onto RFT's, but it's smoother and feels very composed.
I've/it's only covered 91 miles this evening but i'm loving it and the driving position is great too.
The boot spoiler certainly cleans up the backend a little but they haven't de-badged it as they didn't want the responsability if the car got damaged? or maybe they didn't have time.
The only minor fault and i mean minor but i've spotted it is a tiny tiny dent in the fuel flap, almost a ripple in the paint, it was only by chance that i was looking up and down the sides at rear quarter level and the light caught it, but i'm not sure wether or not it's worth ringing and complaining as they probably won't be able to see it.
It wouldn't show up on a pic so can't post it up, but what would you guys do?
Soon as i've cleaned myself i'll get some pics up!

glad you like it
I've just had a 24hr demo of a 325i Sport and, like you, was impressed with the driving position (I got more comfortable in 4 mins than I've been in my Audi in 4 years).
Also, even on 18s and RFT, the ride was not a problem at all - again better than my 'Sport' Audi over any surface (speed bumps included)

Get a hairdryer or heat gun on it - they're almost certainly only stuck on with double sided tape. Warm it well first, then try to peel all the sticky off in one go.
Allow to cool before removing final residue with Tar Remover (or similar) and then polish. (don't slap tar remover on warm/hot clearcoat finishes, it'll degrade it)
Jobs a good 'un
I may have a try at the de badging myself then!
I would be gutted if i knacker it but sounds fairly fool proof methinks!
I got dental floss but maybe catgut would be better?
The car rides really well, got 200 miles on the clock and i'm looking for excuses to go places!
Spoke to the dealer about the imperfection in my fuel flap and they will replace it so that's ok.
What is everyone elses views on de badging? i just think it cleans the backend up a little.

P.s thanks for the tips!

Debadging, in my 'umble, doesn't actually improve the rear end much.
Debadging a low-end model is construed by many (not me, I hasten to add) to be a way of hiding that low-enditude.
I think that the BMW-style model numbers on the boot have a certain classy simplicity.
Glad your liking the car, have you gone for Nav / xenons? etc...?
My 335i was de-badged when I picked it up, although after seeing others with the badge on, I put the '335i' badge on the boot myself.
I think it looks better with the badge on, and theres no reason to hide the fact that its a 320d! Wasn't it What Cars car of the year 2006??? (they dont give that away easily)
and quite possibly one of the best all round cars you could buy... keep the badge and wear it with pride!

Well chaps it's too late the badge has gone, very easy to remove too!
I've had all my cars de badged, i don't do it to hide what it is as it's quite a quick car.
Audi's, or whatever i've had i try and get them removed, if it was a 335d i'd still of removed it!
Rochester i got a sapphire black sport, with leather, heated seats, aluminium pack, lighting pack which looks cool when you open the car at night, and 18's. thought i'd spent enough and was happy with spec.
And as for the lower end model i don't need to hide the fact as it was 30k which is high enough for me if you know what i mean.

I'm probably going for the same colour - what colour is your interior?
I'm thinking about tan leather
Alfa, Mines got the Grey leather interior (was pre'spec'd, wasn't my first choice)
its not a popular colour but with the ally trim and a sunroof the interior feels very light and airy which i really like...
the tan interior looks nice, but... (dont take this the wrong way) its a bit.. old man'ish.... plus the 335i is a 'sports' saloon so I dont think the 'tan' look suits it... but colour choice is a very personal thing, theres no right or wrong...
My first choice was black... but now i have grey i wouldn't change it for black...

black and black feels a little, err, dark
I'm keen to make the interior feel less claustrophobic and lemon doesn't really work with 2 young kids
as the name suggests, I'm a big Alfa fan and 'black and tan'is a bit of a tradition

Black on black... nightrider!
like i said mate, colour is a personal choice.. no right or wrong... just whatever you like best.
I thought Red and black was the Alfa tradition? (i know nothing about alfas so correct me if im wrong)

Benno,
I imagine it was but i was 4 months into a 4 year finance deal on a car that i was unhappy with so you can imagine the negative equity on a E46 coupe when the new shape has arrived and rather than getting 5k discount they gave me an amazing price for my old coupe to make the deal viable, i.e more than i payed for it 6 months ago and it now has 24k miles on!!
There was no way i was messing selling private to then get the discount, horses for coures really.
Rochester i got a lip spoiler fitted too which is nice.

Black and tan, red and tan and red and black. Tan leather is great especially in Alfa's!
