My 645 comes out of warranty in April. It's done 28k miles from new, always serviced by dealer. BMW want £870, Warranty Direct want £640 for work at franchised dealers. All guidance gratefully recieved.

Well, that all depends in whether your dealer is any good i suppose, personally I haven't found 1 in 60miles of me that has been anything other than complete crap

I d stick to BMW for the difference in your premiums.
I have an M Roadster and the BMW warranty was £1050 with a £250 excess for each claim. Warranty Direct £725 with £50 excess. I decided to leave both and save £1000 and use that to pay for any work that needs doing.

BMW one all the way, not cheap but then has been IME always hassle free. Other warranties will try to wriggle out of any claim and will not pay the going labour rate, potentially leaving you short. IMO stay clear.
