Hey guys,

I am trying to find out the best tyre options for our car. However i dont have any of the specs for the exact tyre sizes for it, as i am not home at the moment. We have a nring trip planned for the weekend and i need to fit some good tyres onto the car rather than the crappy runflats.

Could you anyone tell me the correct wheel sizes for the 18's which the m bodykitted cars run ~(the ones that look like the m5's wheels).

Thanks very much,really appreciated

best
adam

I think they are...

225/45 ZR 18's at the front...

and 255/40 ZR 18's at the rear...

I would spend as little as possible to have fun round the ring and get a good set when you get back home...

On that note. I just got 2x federal ss535's on the back of my 528 (e39) I cannot tell the difference between them and the conti sport contacts they replaced.

Hi Adam,

My 535d Sport has 245/40/18 all round. I don't think that the "M" kitted E60's have staggered sizes like the M5 or E90 sports etc.

I'd probably go for a Pirelli Nero or Michelin Pilot Sport 2 both extra load. I know that people rubbish Contis, but I guess that Sport Contact 2's are another option.

Cheers

Hi Adam,

That Ring trip was great. Can't believe that it was almost 4 years ago! It was your first week with the Turbo R if I recall.

I've moved on from the M5 and with my pipe and slippers at the ready, it's 535d time! LOL Will be at the Ring a couple of times this year, so will be sure to let you know in advance.

Hope your tyre search goes well. I'm certainly going to be changing my run flats for something more traditional. I may even go for the M172 19" wheels with normal tyres and keep the 18's in the garage for resale time.

Send my best to your family and hope to catch up sometime this year!

Cheers
Matt
