E38 cd player!!

I posted a little earlier about my e38s inability to play copied cds, which I can live with. But, I went and purchased a couple of CDs, only to find that the player will read them, and it will flick through the tracks, and when you press FF/RW, the correct symbol comes up on the display, and I can select what cd I want...

The problem is, is that it wont play them, and there is no sign of a play symbol on the display when it should be playing..

It could be that the CD player is offended by the amount of Simon & Garfunkel its having to deal with, but I'd like to think it was sufficiently professional to get on with it!

Any ideas what is the problem??

It WILL play copied cds - Just use audio disks NOT data disks.
Mine had a problem of trying to track/change the CD and it is now mounted on the floor of the boot as a temporary fix (now a year and a half)

Yeh, I've heard that too (audio disks only), but even a 'proper' CD it isnt playing. They're registering with the system, and it will change tracks on the display, I just cat hear anything! (and theres no play symbol, if theres actually supposed to be one..)
