Car in for routine service, oil change and brake fluid plus the auto headlights needed fixing. Turned up at 17.00 as requested (car dropped off at 08.00 and no phone call to advise otherwise)and car is not ready.
Apparently the reprogramming to cure the light problem had another 3 hours to run
Anyway they lent me another car so not a big issue apart wasting a my time.
The interesting bit will be on Saturday when I pick my car up and see the bill, these boys charge north of £100 per hour so there could be quite a robust conversation if it is excessive. (car is still in warranty)

Coding is a bit of a nightmare for us,most take about 3 hours but quite often we get a system that crashes or fails to respond correctly.
Its like loading windows XP for the first time only your doing it 23 times to 23 control units through one wire and an optic fibre....eventually one says "boll*ks to this"and the whole thing go'es tits up.
Unfortunately reception never take this into account and as you have found out leads many cups of coffee...we tend to ask for the car to be left for 2 days in case of problems, but more often than not the car is given back within a day.
Still, later this year we are being geared up for the new 7...all singing all dancing 8 speed monster with 1gb dater transfere
