hi I've just returned to the BMKW fold after an absence of around 6 years, last BMW was an E30 M3 and I've recently bought an E39 530d with m tech suspension etc...as my new tow car for the racer. Yet again i have succeded in buying a tow car with no towbar already fitted. I've found a cheap swan neck type on the net but it says i need to check it doesnt screw up the PDC, anyone have any info? obviously i know i'll need to allow for the extra length of the towbar when reversing.

Plus how brilliant are these 530d 's, mine drives like its on rails and goes like stink, darent even think how quick it'll be with a remap

thanks pikey

Wiring in the electrics for your towbar isn't as simple as it used to be. There was a time when a handful of scotchblocks was allyou needed. You really need to buy the towbar wiring kit from your BMW dealer.

If you send me a PM through my profile I'll send you a PDF file of the towbar installation and wiring instructions and then you'll appreciate exactly what's involved readit

i had a removable swan neck type fitted, brilliant job and hardly noticeable when not fitted that car has tow bar.

These cars are fantastic tow vehicles. go as fast as you want, cruise control, quiet and with air suspension a brilliant ride.

Good purchase !

Hi, is your swan neck towbar an OE part? If not, what make did you go for? Thanks

thanks for the replies, no its not a BMW one, i think its made by eithier brink or westfallia who i would imagine are OE suppliers to BMW.
