Hi everyone,

I've had my car in for some work done today at the main dealers and they're offering a cracking deals on new reg's this month as they haven't reached their target.

So i'm contemplating swapping in my 55 plate 320d sport coupe for a new E90 320d sport saloon in black sapphire with Black dakota leather.

Am i mad?

And what are the prices these days as i read somewhere on here that some dealers are doing them for 24k ish? is that correct,

They are offering me decent money for mine but probably over allowing on mine for the discount on theirs?

The E90 is not as pretty as my E46 but they do feel more solid and better built and drive with a little more refinement.

The new coupe is a little to expensive and the extra rear doors will be handy.

Any thoughts?

I have one of these as a company car and can't really fault it.

Mine's Le Mans Blue but otherwise completely standard. Its faaster than you can expect for the economy and handles and grips beautifully.

To be really nit-picky, the tyres aren't great for noise and harshness suppression, but grip is tremendous in the dry (bit non-communicative in the damp/slippy, good again in the proper wet).

I've averaged 52-55mpg over 12,000 miles now, and really enjoy the car. All I'd counsel is to take an extended test-drive on concrete motorways and broken surfaces to see if the NVH upsets you. It doesn't upset me, but I can see what people complain about.

Also, rear seat passengers complain of a jiggly ride, but who cares.

Cheers Mikeylad,

I've now done the deal and hopefully pick up the car in a week or so!

I've tested a couple of E90 M sport saloons o all sorts of roads and i was quite happy with it, great turn in and road feel, smooth engine and quick enough for todays trafic.

I know the run flats are firm riding but i've had two sport spec 3's previous to this and they are firm.

Doing some research and alot of people are going to coventional tyres rather than the run flats and finding alot better ride.

I'm looking forward to it, mine is Black Sapphire with Dakota black leather with heated seats and 18's.
