Heavy Aceelerator MAN!
Discussion
So as discussed in an another thread, I've just become the proud owner of a 2000 528i. The accelerator is very heavy though and actually makes the car quite difficult to drive smoothly. Tell me it's a little screw I need to tweek?!
edited to add: Also it seems to pass through a resonant vibration that you can feel through the sterring wheel and thrrough your feet at about 70mph. smooth as silk at 60 and 80.
Any ideas?

I've got a 528i and I too found the throttle heavy at first. Give it a week or so and you'll be complaining about the faffy girly throttles in other cars. The clutch is also much, much springier and more progressive than the clutches you find in current shopping cars. Every time I get into mine after being in a hire car for a week I stall it the first time I pull away.
Please let me know if you get any joy on the vibration - I too have this at the same speed and I am currently trying to find time to get my front wheel balance sorted. Check your tyre pressures, too.
Vibration is a problem on 5's. A couple of easy options are wheel balancing and tyre pressure, plus check they are wearing evenly. Next check there aren't any stones in the discs - a friend had this and again it was a quick fix.
Final one I've heard is the suspension bushings - however while the parts are cheap, it's a pig of a job to work out specifically which one might be causing the problems, so it can be a bigish bill for the labour.

After a 120 mile drive I'm pretty convinced it the suspension. I'm going to get an Inspection 2 done by a specialist so I'll get them to have a look at that too. Otherwise it's gorgeous and I'm really happy with it. It pulls very well too.

It will be the bushes. Changed both lower track control arm and anti-roll bar bushes on mine recently myself. Not easy (parts are cheap BTW) but worth it!
