When I start the car the air bag light stays on for like 3 minutes is this normal
What car is it on. I dont think this is normal. Mine's a 330CI, it comes on when the engine start and goes off like every other light.
It usually means that you have a sensor failure and the airbags within the car are not active. Pop along to see a BMW specialist and wiyhin a few minutes you will have an answer regarding parts or wiring.
If there is a fault in the system permenant or sporadic which causes the light to come on then it should stay on,even if the fault is there for 3 mins and rights itself.
Check the fault memory if theres nothing there then it sounds like a coding issue with the control unit.Try a re-program of the MRS control unit

some one told me there was some thing you can do with the fault you need to put the car on and then do something and it will fix the problem ????????
Dont know about BMWs but quite a lot of mileage correction people can reset the airbag ecu which cures warning lights on most cars.
you can reset them with carsoft adapters off ebay
