Leaking tailgate 3 series Touring

Got a small problem with my tailgate wash/wipe. When I use it in wash mode it leaks a little from the passenger side hinge! I took it apart and noticed the hose runs up through there.
Had same problem on my Audi so guessing that its the hose split somewhere.

Anybody else had this? and how easy to fix?


As an aside dont open the tailgate when the car is parked on a hill, facing up the hill. The nice polish on the roof lets the water dump itself into the boot!!!
Top tip, park it facing down the hill!!!!!

So in answer to your question

1. Yes we had it happen

2. I seem to recall I fixed it, but cant remember how .... it was over 10yrs ago (cant have been too difficult!)

I think its a valve (item 8 possibly) that gets clogged so forces water out the tubing rather than through the valve
