e36 M3 cabrio - hard top removal - stupid question

Hi gang,

A mate of mine has a P reg E36 EVO cab. He has never taken the hard top off himself.

Can anyone explain to me so I can do it tonight for him pls.

Easy.

Unscrew the aerial and remove it.
Then take out the panels in the inside at the back, one each side. Then pull the levers out as far as they go.

Then undo the handle at the front of roof by turning it.

Then lift away, watching very carefully not to scratch the car with the spikes that stick out the bottom.

ps. when you say take out the panels on each side, do they just pull out?
