The left side speakers in my e46 330ci have stopped working and i took it to a car audio place and they say my standard amplifier has blown! These are pretty pricey from bmw. Has any1 come across a problem of this nature and how did they go about it??

why do you have two user accounts on PH?

If it is in warranty, get it fixed. If not, buy a new amplifier from a car audio place.

I was using my mates account then thought of opening my own. The car is actually out of warranty. You cant replace the amp with an aftermarket amp i was told as it goes to my sat nav unit etc.

Try getting a replacement off eBay. Do you have the HK setup or the Professional one?

HK - Is that Harmon Kardon? If so no i havent. Must be the other set up. Is there no cheaper way out of this. I cant locate any original amps on ebay. Ill have to take it out n get a part number and maybe try a few breakers. Getting Annoying now!!!!

Correct me if i`m wrong you either have a harmon kardon system or a standard bmw buisness or nav screen?? If the amp has gone it will be part off the stereos internals if you dont have the hk system? The hk system has the amplifier in the boot passenger side rear quarter i think? cheers

Its definately not the HK. It just has the Navigation unit in the front....the audio shop told me the bmw amplifier in the rear quarter has blown but i thought if that was the case why does the drivers side speakers still work..?? Is it worth takin to bmw for a diagnosis?? would this be costly??
