Dead speedo

Coming back to London from Manchester on Saturday night the speedo died on my 528i. What I realised was that I hadn't paid any attention to working out what revs in top gear corresponds to what speed.

So, anyone got an E28 528i auto and could tell me what 3000rpm in top equates to?

Also, does anyone know of a company that do good quality removable towbars (and electrics) for E28s?
