Hi there I posted earlier in the week regardin a 3.0 Z4 Coupe and many of you were very helpful with your replies. Just to let you know I test drove one yesterday and thought it was great, superb engine, noise anf gruffness??? However I am not convinced that the car is big enough for me.

So, the guy at the dealership starts talking about alternatives, 335 Sport out soon, I have to say I think the normal car looks nice but not quite aggressive enough IMO. If anyon can offer any advice on the merits etc of 335 and or what the M package spec will include it would be greatly appreciated.

I would be after 335 sport manual with toys. timescales, specs, images etc would be very handy, cant seem to find alot on the web.

Cheers

Joe

Joe,

Email me via my profile and I will show you some UK spec M Sport Coupe pics.

I had one of these on order but the looks as Ive expressed on here, didn't do anything for me. It was also a bloomin rediculous cost. A 320D M Sport Coupe with leather, metallic, bluetooth and sun protection glass costing the same bar a few hundred pounds as a Z4 coupe sport with similar spec.

well what can i say...

its an 'everything' car. it take the kids, the shopping, the flat pack ikea stuff, 5 adults, its comfortable, reliable, well built and plus it has 307 bhp can do 60 in a little over 5 seconds accelerates like a raging bull all the way til when its held back by the 155 limiter, and handles beautifully.

Its a relaxed motorway cruiser one minuet and a serious drivers car the next (especially with the traction control off!)

Above 5,000rpm the engine sreams! at tickover it has a wonderful hum to it, although at 70mph cruise control on, just ticking over in 6th gear, radio on, its silent...

If you are looking to spend between £35 - £40k on a car that keeps the family happy, is in its element no matter what situation you find yourself in, and shows up a Porsche Caymen S on the motorway (like i did last night, love it!) then look no further, i really cant recommend it enough!

What more could you want?

sounds good to me

how do you find the ride? - it seems to have attracted criticism from certain quarters

going to compare it to a 159 3.2 (considerably slower but love Alfas) and an S4 Avant (like the idea of Quattro but find the Audi a bit bland to be honest)

I just bought a 330D M sport Touring and love it, 335 should be a blast in either Diesel or Petrol form!

The ride can be a bit unforgiving over really bad road surfaces, and i imagine the run-flats dont help matters either.

I would say the ride in my car (M Sport, 18"'s) is about the same as my dads E46 M3 (19" alloys)

I quite like a taught ride personally, it makes me feel more connected (this is a sports car after all), and its quite rare that id be caught down a road 'that' bad, in which case id just slow down....as you would in any car...

Audi S4, i thought it was too a bit bland, and about 5k more, and its slower aswell! 5.2 vs 5.6 to 60.

Alfaspiderman2 if you are coming to the Sunday service meet this sunday you can have a good look round the car, if not i live in rochester but am down 'south' (ringwood to be precise) quite a bit if you want to see an owned car rather than a showroom gleamer if either of them are within a reasonable distance from you.

bloody hell - I live in Ringwood!

(not planning on going to Sunday service meet though)

0-60 in 5.2...that sounds a bit quicker than the quoted figures I've seen

oh right, small world!

I have a holiday place just outside in woodgreen near fordinbridge.

i got the 5.2 figure from either CAR magazine or EVO cant remember which. but i wouldn't doubt it from driving it, would be interesting to set up a timer to see how close i could get it to that figure, i imagine that was on a perfect day with the T/C off, tyres warmed up etc...

let me know when you're planning to be down next if you're able to spare 15mins for a look at yours!

how do you find it without the t/c off anyway? read some stories of hairy oversteery moments from 335d owners on here recently

yeah no problem, i think im next down there in about a month (mother-to-be depending, nothing definate at the moment)

Well ive got 2 favorite bends near my house in rochester that ive manage to perfect of years of trying, but its fine with the T/C i find it alot more controllable than my previous RWD cars. The biggest thing ive noticed is how good the steering is at self-centering when the back end comes out.

bare in mind that im no stig, and that when i do play with the T/C off and get the back end out its never really above 30mph, at the end of the day this is a brand new 40k car that ive got to keep for 3 years so im still a bit carefull when looning around. In a straight line though... wow!

you're 'no Stig' - what does that make me?

this will be my first RWD car ever and I've just spent 4 yrs driving a fwd Audi diesel!

(you can understand the small ammount of trepidation at the imminent step up in power)
