325 tds wont start- fuel injection control

Today I turned the ignition of my 1995 E36 Diesel and the Electronic fuel injection control light flashes and theres a ticking noise in cinq with the flashing in the enginebay.

Whats gone wrong!! And more importantly how do I fix it.

Random guess but it sounds like a relay clicking-probabely DDE power relay.If you can try and locate the source of the clicking by having someone else turn it over-more than likely it will be the cause of the non start.

Please dont put your hand where there are moving parts when checking for the noise.

ha! problem solved!

Now since coming from old crappy Peugeots I thought the worst.
Weakest link happened to be me. I left the interior light on and only noticed when it got dark again.

Lesson learned. Dont put my new tax disk in the car when its dark!
