Hi guys, you will find me on the TVR S series forum but looking for a tidy car for the daily commute.
Spotted a spotless BMW 3 Series Touring 318is. Full history, everything works and is in very good condition indeed. BBS Alloys as factory fitted, even the torch in the glovebox.

It got 105 k on the clock and seems totally straight.

Its up for £1250

Does this seem a good price and worth a punt?

any comments most welcome

E36, sounds good to me. Didnt do E30 318is Touring, did they?. M44 1.9 140bhp, strong engine but weedy. OK for commute though as long as something fun for the weekend. Ive found my 318is to be entertaining over the years, is it a late reg, 98/99? Solid interior, seats wear obviously, electrics seem OK, no serious problems just consumables.

E30's starting to age now and you can feel it, for the commute i'd want something more comfortable.

Sorry forgot to mention which model. Its an E30 on a L plate.
Feels very tight, everything works smoothly.
No wear or tear on the interior whats so ever. I guess it was used for motorway stuff as driver seat not worn at all.

Is the 1.8 a strong engine? not to bothered about power trip as got the TVR to scare me at weekends.

It it up for too much even though it is in such a good condition?

M40 1.8 is not one of BMW's finest, short cam belt interval change (3yrs/35k from memory at last count... BMW kept reducing it!) couple with top end rattles with miles, but if the car is nice and the engine is sweet it wouldn't put me off unduley

Father had an 89 G 318i Touring back in 92 and been driving BMW's ever since so must say something

and the E30 touring does look good. I'd agree the M40 not great but with maintenance I cant see it letting you down. Price is good IMO.
