E36 autobox issues
Discussion
I have a 97P 328 touring with a 5 speed auto box.
In the last week or so I have noticed a little problem and was hoping someone might be able to advise the issue and the solution.
When pulling up to a junction the box goes down into neutral but then when pulling off is slow to engage first letting the engine rev and then a thunk as it engages a gear.
Also on hills the car rolls back taking a second or two to engage gear and then thunking forwards.
The box kicks down fine and runs up and down the gears perfectly during normal driving.
Help...

Most obvious one is to check underneath and make sure you dont have any oil dripping. It may be a cass the oil level is dropping to a crucial point.
After that you really need a diagnostic test at an indie or stealer to see what faults are logged if any.
I personally as I have access to the equipment would reprogram the DME and EGS-clear the addaptions and test.
After that its the box area and working out which valve is stickiing in the box.
