I had an 04 330d, the options were remap or tuning box, I opted for tuning box (+ 40 bhp) which was removed when the car was serviced to avoid any warranty issues, I drove a DMS remapped car and the performance was very impressive but the cost of the remap was £600-700, my tuning box is in the classifieds if you're interested.

I had a 530d se 2004 , they are 218 bhp standard , I paid £300 fo an ecu remap . car was phenominal done , I also had a remapped 535d at the same time and the 530 d (manual ) was quicker to 100mph.. , both cars would sail off the clock at 160mph on the flat .. 530d was so much better on fuel, 48mpg every time on a 300mile trip..

Yes my box is manufactured by tuning box, they seemed to be the most reputable when I was looking TUV approved etc.

I had a diesel tuning company for 5 years, I used to fit Speedbuster and a few other makes.. If you want the car to graft forget the tuning box, they only increase fuel, most of the cheaper ones are nothing more than a resistor and need to be avoided , basically they run the car on cold start so yes they will give you a gain but dont do anything with increasing boost levels..

A remap will give you a lump more than any box and they are undetectable, If in the event of the dealers doing a software upgrade and wipe the ecu , the man that does my stuff now will come back and reload the file.. first car years ago I had ecu mapped cost me £700 yikes things have changed now people are doing them for less and less.. the guy I use charges £300 for an E60 as the ecu has to be removed and is a bit more involved..

drop me an email if you are interested I can give you his number , he comes to you..
