Anyone own a 2002?
Discussion
I have owned a 2002 Cabriolet for about 10 years but it's awaiting restoration at the moment.
Great cars, just about the most useable classic you can get. All parts available and straightforward engineering. Only downside is that the bu66ers rust like anything in places that are dead easy to disguise!

I've several 2002's over the years...Indeed, my very first car was a 2002tii.
Think very very hard before buying one now though. As someone else said rust will be the biggest enemy (proper structural rust). Bear in mind that even the youngest examples will now be 30 years old and were built in an era when cars really did rust properly!
If you look down the list of for sale cars on the link someone else gave you and read the text written by the chap selling a Turbo...Whilst you may not be anticipating buying a Turbo bear in mind the bodies are all the same. I think his words are very, very true:
"I have had five 2002 tii’s in the last 20 years and this has been my first turbo. It has won a couple of prizes at the BMW Car Club '02 register annual meets and I would describe it as very good condition but those of you with '02s will know that there is always more that you can do! I bought the car three years ago and have spent the best part of another GBP23000 on it since then. That, I'm afraid, is '02s!"

I've called that guy and left him a couple of messages. He can't be keen to sell it as I've heard nothing; and if he's sold it already, he must be a bit of a gobsh1te as he hasn't even texted me back (as I politely requested on my messages) to tell me it's gone.
I own a 2002 touring built to ti spec (twin solex 40 phh) and few other bits. Won best touring a brooklands (national BMW 2002 meet) a couple of times and had full restoration a few years back by Jaymic. Lives in storage at the moment as I never use it but a lovely car if interested.
