Hi everyone.

Can anyone help.

Just bought a Z3 a month ago, and the drivers footwell and under the seat is soaked. There is also a leak behind the head rest. Where are the 'normal' places that they leak. Any advise would be apprieciated.

Thx

They leak from the 3 hood seal that the side glass goes up to.They tend to go out of adjustment or wear.

The main leak tends to be the front seal to windscreen apeture seal(in the corner).

Other leaks are the door membranes-this is behind the interior door panel-yours is plastic and they like to come unstuck.

Depending on where the z has bee parked (under tree's etc all its life)then I have found the fabric perishes-on the offside and n/s there appears to be pockets(on the outside)or slits int the fabric which you can feed your hand into-water and dirt cant escape from here and eventually eats the fabric-water then seaps through and into the footweel(normally the well behind the seat gets wet).

Also the rear screen can leak-the fabric around the screen comes away and it finds its way past the zip

The way to check is have someone sit in the car and someone outside with a hose-you dont need to spay water directly at the seals.

Is it splashing on your head?

Sometimes full gutters/drainage holes in the bulkhead can back up and result in a wet carpet. Lift the bonnet and check between the window wipers and the engine bay

I'll take a better look at the weekend, and try the hosepipe.

Thanks all
