My speedo has stopped working. It is a 94 5 series touring. Anyone know where the sensor is and how a non-mechanic can check it out?
thanks

Thanks - sorry what is the asc light?
The speedo stopped working after I had all the bushes changed (suspension) and an MOT.
As a result the windscreen wipers also play up now (ie they dont think you are driving).

Thanks
No abs light on. So I am guessing it has been left off. I will take a look later (I assume I can see it by removing the rear roadwheel?).
Thanks

Thanks - I am hoping it is the sensor.
when the car had the bushes done it was taken to an mot centre by the garage and then back the the servicing garage. the mileage on the car is identical to that on the MOT cert. This suggests the prob happened before the MOT and after I dropped it off for the bushes.

from memory the speedo sensor is at the diff. Maybe its still un plugged from the work done?

ABS sensors are on the wheels and have nothing to do with speedo.

Also not every e34 had ABS

Just re read-its an E34 and as the guy above said its on the diff. The wires will be broken at the white connector or severly corroded inside the conector or wire sheaths-used to do these all the time.Or its been left disconnected
Got a bit carried away and posted for an e39
