Just been on the UK site. You can now see all current options for the new X5.
Run through it and come up with £52,675 for A 3.0d. Is it me or is that looking like a lot £££££?
I admit its a loaded car, but its stuff I`ve had and enjoyed previously. Oh well its only money.....

I agree it' s alot of money but...

Bottom spec Range Rover TDV8 HSE 54,020.00 OTR.

the M-Class base is 10k cheaper but doesn't do 7 seats which is the new thankg to have, that way you can justify your Chelsea tractor.

Yes it is generally more than the outgoing car, but it is now Auto as standard which probably accounts for £1,500/£1,600 of the increase.

What about the Audi Q7 I specced one up the other day and came out at £47k with quite a few toys!

They have a waiting list for this car, particularly the 3.0d that is insanely long. That's why they can charge what they like for it.

Don't forget that the engine from the 335D is also going to join the range at some point.

I also personally wouldn't choose an SE, I would wait for the Sport versions to become available.

I`m in a new ML320cdi at the mo. Great car but the main agents and MB UK are simply shocking in their customer service standards and I vow never to have another MB.
Had two X5 sports previously and really rate them, so I`m keen to get back in one.
My new X5 is a launch car for April time. Hav`nt spec`d it yet with BMW, just looked on the BM site.
As far as I know, Adaptive Drive, with Dynamic Package pretty much equals the Sport set up.
BMW have said the Sport and twin turbo diesel are the end of this year. Thought I`d get rid of the ML soon as, new X5 April and then twin turbo X5 early next year.
If the waiting list is still strong which it will be, hopefully should`nt loose to much £££.

We drove an ML in the summer and whilst it was Ok I found it underpowered (It was a 280 CDI though).

The quality was OK but the car's air con had packed up in the height of summer and we had to conduct the test drive with the windows down. I also couldn't understand why the Sport isn't available with the option of full leather.

Interesting you say that, Catherine.

While my partners X3 is in for repair at the moment, we have an X5 3.0D Sport as a courtesy car. Its lovely, aside from the fact that the ride is just way too harsh. It seems to bang and crash over each and every tiny imperfection in the road. The X3 is an SE, and I find the suspension far more compliant.

Jusy my observations.

Hmmm that doesn't sound quite right. The one thing I love about out X5 is that is doesn't have run flats (unlike our 3 series) it runs on Michelin Diamaris tyres and the ride quality is brilliant (The 3 Series M Sport is quite crashy)I also do like the X3 SE ride as well, we test drove one with a view to having the twin turbo diesel before choosing the X5 and I have to say the X3 ride was not what I had read in the press and was indeed very good.

Having said that the X5's weekness does seam to be standing water, coming across Salisbury Plain last friday it hated the stuff.

Hi,

The new X5 waiting lists are all approximately 1-2 years long depending on the dealership you speak to. This is for the 3.0d model.

The twin-turbo model (335d) engine has not been confirmed by BMW UK at this stage. As for the SE/Sport model debate, you can buy an SE model with a Dynamic Pack which makes the car exactly like a Sport model.

I work in a BMW main dealership

I have a deposit on a 3.0dTT and was told only yesterday (bearing in mind I'm top of the list) to expect my car in about 12 months (give or take). That said they are speculating and have no confirmed dates from BMW.

I'm waiting for a 3.0dtt sport. I was asked about 2 months ago if I'd like a 3.0d SE to my spec for delivery early March but I'm happy to wait for the TT.

Thanks for the offer beer

March?? The car isn't avalable until the UK lauch date 28th April!! So I think they may have misled you slightly!!

Never mind. Just duoble check when they say you'll be getting the Twin-Turbo model because BMW UK have NOT said they are actually making it yet, so if they give you a date they are misleading you slightly my friend.

To be fair they may have said April but I wasn't interested or listening so I may have made the mistake in my post. I was in the dealer last week and they are only claiming that BMW will almost certainly be putting the engine in the new X5 as it's just gone the X3 and they would be stupid to ignore an opportunity. If they don't do it I'll have a 650 or something similar and move on

Cool, Just make sure they're giving you accurate delivery dates though as there are long lists of orders for these cars. A lot of dealers are telling people unrealistic dates for deliveries.
