Hi

i'm currently looking at a x reg 330Ci with 92k on the clock, Is that sort of mileage ok on this car or is there bits that start going wrong around around this amount.

anything else i should be aware of over and above the checks that you would normally do when buying a car?

cheers

Andy

My 330i Touring's done 103k now. The engine still a peach and, as quoted elsewhere, makes *that* noise in the upper reaches of the rev range.

Oil needs topping up every now and again. Not excessive use but wise to check in advance that the owner of your prospective purchase has had sufficient mechanical sympathy to attend to such things.

Other than that, just the normal 3-er traits; suspension bushes, etc. Good luck.

Hi Andy,

My 330i has done 122k and is running sweetly. It uses a little bit of oil, but nothing outrageous. I suspect that the bushes in the front lower suspension arms need sorting as there there's a little bit of play. The gear linkage is also weak and needs the bushes replacing. It's in for a service next week, so will be having these things sorted. Should drive like a new car after that.

Just buy with your eyes open and you should be fine.

Cheers
Matt

97K on my 330 Coupe had it from new... Replaced Hedgehog resistor, front suspension bushes and aux fan. Check Aux fan as this may have given up and you may not notice until the summer when you have over heating probs and no aircon.. Also a tad expensive at £180 + 1hour labour to fit...

Otherwise drives like new...

I should also say that it is a convertible model.

Is it these that suffer a problem with the rear sub frame?
