Oh my word yikes

My M3's in for some repair work, so ive been given a fully loaded 335d over Christmas.

I can honestly say that i wasn’t ready for the almighty power surge; popped into it just to take it around the block and thought 'oooh i put my foot down' and nearly snapped my neck.

The instant power feels (to me) like it’s faster than the E46 M3.

I don’t (at the moment) feel like handing back the keys

Anyone else got one?

THAT quick? Does anyone know how much quicker the new one is than a 330D?

There should be a warning sticker. hehe

I'm actually looking forward to having another go.

Just looked up the performance figures 580Nm of torque :holeymoley:

Would i lie to you Rob

It would make a good party trick. Take someone out in it, start it up (sounds like a diesel), pootle along and then floor it (watch as they sh%t themselves)

I have driven a 335i and found that to be totally amazing, I can only imagine what a 335D would be like with all that torque.

Ive had my 335d coupe for 2 weeks now and its awesome, with all that torque believe me u dont need a manual. I would go as far as to say that the in gear acceleration is as good as the Griff 500 I just sold. This is an amazing car!

I’m with you on this one. Had a long drive today and im still very impressed. Like you i owned a Griff 500 and the acceleration is similar. I'll admit that i do sh*t myself when really pushing it hard. It’s like hyper-drive mode. Can’t imagine what it'd be like if DMS had a go at one.

How cool are the little lights underneath the door handles?bounce

It must be your sunny disposition and positive outlook that have kept you going these past 21 years...

It'd probably break the autobox.

I was sorely tempted when I bought my touring. Went for 330d in the end. Thing is it's supposed to be my sensible car (got a GT3 for the weekends).

What's the fuel consumption like? Also verdict on the gear shift padles?

Just got one last week .. I love it .. best toy is the HUD.

A bit hairy with the tramlining run flats but its great on long runs
Its only managing 32/gal at the moment. Its a couple of seconds behind my VX in the 0-60 but "troning" past people when they move over on the motorway is impresive.

I have one Have had one for a month and LOVE it to bits. I've had Paul from Miracle Detail come and give 6 hours of his attention to it and I'll be uploading pics soon.

Mpg is around the 30 mark, 400 odd miles to a tank.
Got to hold my hands up here; I haven’t used the flappy paddles. Wouldn’t know how to (by that I mean, get the best out of the car (obviously know how to flick them to change gears))silly

That’s the word I was looking for. Did some ‘troning’ last night.
