Hi Guys

Just talking to my mate who has a BMW with tyre presure sensors. He needs a new set of rear tyres. The question is can you get them changed anywhere or do you have to take them to a BMW dealer due to the sensors?

Thanks

No as long as the grunt fitting the tyres is told the have sensors they will be fine.
What model is it?

I thought they worked off the rolling radius of the tyre. If the radius gets smaller then the vehicle assumes there is a problem. There is a re-calibration procedure after new tyres, if you can't figure this out the details will be in the handbook.

They use both-although the sensor ones were E39 and are no longer fitted...All the latest use the wheel speed sensors for the reference via ASC

It uses the DSC sensors, nothing to worry about when changing tyres apart from the reset procedure afterwards.

I've read about that in the handbook, something like hold the button down and wait for it to calibrate, eventually the light goes off.
