Think my drivers rear shaft has gone nakard on my 320 coupe E36...

Also my Top mount on the same corner... grrrrr

When I drive it and drop off the acceleration the is a constant knocking noise, the noise is faster, the faster I am going and let off the accelaration... If it is this how much is it for a second hand part, or even a new part? also, does it sound like the drive shaft? How hard would it be to change the driveshaft if indeed it is this. Im on a tighter than tight budget being at uni and comming towards the end of term, so anytihng that needs doing I would like to do myself to cut costs if at all possible!!!

Second thing, when im going over a bump, for example, im crossing the carrageway and run over a cats eye, there is a big bump comming from the same corner.....

Also to make tihngs worse and just to really pi55 me off, I think the caliper is sticking on the same corner too...

Any help/advice most apreciated

Have the rear roads springs checked for fractures, top mounts we do a few of those for rattling and the drive shaft well I have never replaced one for failure-however if it has failed you will need a bearing as it will fail shortly after-the CV is pressed out of the hub.
We have done loads of diffs, mainly M3.Also loads of wheel bearings.

hmmm, thats interesting that you havent done any.... basically, when I got the car, I relaised the abs light never came on during start up, so I took the clocks out and realised the bulb had been taken out. So I replaced it, and low and behold, the light came on. For the life of me I couldnt figure out which sensor was fecked, so I took it to a specialist, and he got the diagnostics thing out and traced it to the drivers rear side. So I left it with him and he rang to to tell me that the rear drive shaft had been replaced before with a non ABS version, hence the light kept comming on. and he replaced with a second hand part, and 2 weeks on from that, the noise appeared. But here was something a bit dodgy about the guy, and dont quite trust him, so im quite reluctant to take it back... but the clonking noise is gettig worse and is pretty severe. grrrrrrr, could it be the CV joint thats nakard?

This is the worst part about owning a car, when you cant figure out what wrong, the weather has been so hurendous lately so havent been able to take a proper look at it, ie taking the wheel off and have a proper look and shake about!!! grrrrrr
