My heater fan / blower has stopped working altogether. I've had the problem before, whereby control went erratic and I found this to be the well known 'hedgehog' resistor problem.I changed it and it worked fine again. This time it just stopped working altogether suddenly.

I've checked fuse 76 and it appears to be fine (I assume I'd see a break in it if there was a problem ?).

I've got hold of another final stage resistor (the hedgehog) and put it in and it still does not work. (It was a second hand resisitor, so there's a chance I guess that it could be faulty but I think it unlikely as last time it was this fault it went erratic, did not just stop).

Hence, I'm wondering what to do next ? Does this mean it could be the motor on the blower unit itself, which looking in the Haynes manual looks to be a complete dash out job !!!

So - any opinions, do I need to bite the bullet and assume its the motor ? Anything else I should check ?

Is the dash out job as complicated as it sounds or it is manageable ?

Any thoughts appreciated.

8/10 it is the heater resistor that is at fault.
You can put your own 12v and earth feed to the motor by by passing the resistor at the connector to check the motor runs.
Dont see many faults with the control panel.
