SatNav Upgrade

Hi Guys,

just bought myself an M3, but my satnav needs updating as it currently shows i live on a cricket pitch!!


Is it a dealer job for an upgrade or will a cheap ebay copy suffice?

You can buy a Europe-wide DVD from your dealer for about £200 or you can look for something similar on ebay.

It is also rumoured that the same DVDs end up on the Internet for free downloading (specifically: emule, navteq 2007-1) but I wouldn't know anything about that.

the earlier cars e.g 2002/03 run cd based systems and the disks are circa £90. I sold my Continental Europe and UK disks on ebay for £10

That sounds more like a GPS reception issue than an update issue, unless you live in a house built on a former cricket pitch in the last couple of years.

Was a cricket pitch three years ago!!

thats disk upgrade then, although beware the latest gps still says I live in a canal - sometimes its not worth the faff of upgrading
