The missus has (again) managed to let the rear of her 2.2 Z3 step out and clip a wall! irked Thought she would have learned by know that rear wheel drive cars, with a little bit of power, plus a little moisture, requires some care??

Anyway, nearside rear wing has sustained some damage around the wheel arch(probably a new wing required in Saphire) and apparently she may have buckled one of her rear multi spoke alloy wheels (according to an ATS operative) as the car drives with a degree of vibration and has handling difficulties! Obviously I want to try an preserve my 4 years no claims so I am contemplating paying for the job myself. Has anyone used a bodyshop in Worcestershire/Midlands they can recommend and felt they got value for money? I don't want to use BMW as I don't want to take out another mortgage. We used BMW last time and the wheel alone was £450!

Also can anyone recommend anywhere I can pick up replacement BMW multi spoke alloy wheels - again without having to go to BMW. Can you pick them up on ebay?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Wheel, yes e-bay is a good place to start, or www.fabdirect.com , www.quarrymotors.co.uk , www.bmautosport.co.uk

Sounds like the car wants a 4 wheel alignment as well and if bits of the suspension have been damaged... highly probable if the wheel is censored and sustained side on impact in which case you'll probably want to make it an insurance claim

regards bodyshop ask www.allenpmw.co.uk Ex Robert Stern technician if he knows anyone he can recommend

www.xlarc.co.uk/welcome.html

Ask for Rob and tell him Simon (TVR's & Alpina) recommended him.
He stripped/rebuilt my Chimaera to concourse condition ... great guy and his staff are superb too.

Thanks Wil... Dilemma is whether to blow my 4 yrs NCD to get it repaired or not :scratchin: As you know I hope to have a Tiv next year at some point and I'm not sure if the insurance is going to be horrendous? Will probably need to investigate. Can anyone suggest any insurance companies I could contact who specialise in TVR's or sports cars generally to see what the impact of having no NCD is?

Cheers

Blueyonder - There is a full set on fleebay. I've been tracking them for over a week. Little word of warning. Seller had them up with a starting bid of £200 and they reached £225. He pulled them early "... to sell to the current highest bidder ..." They have now been re-listed with a starting bid of £500!! Just put Z3M into the search engine.

Good luck
