The forum has been revamped and now you are only allowed to be a forum member now if you are a member of the club, ie you have to pay an annual fee. Perhaps it is just me but I find this a bit stange and almost a little snobby. I do not own a BMW at present but love the marque and hope to own more in the future but I do not want the club magazine etc but sometimes I might want to share knowledge or views with other enthusiasts (ie on the forum) I do not pay for any other forums...sorry becoming a rant so I shall stop.

You want to look at www.bavarian-board.co.uk/default.asp then.

There was some sort of power struggle between the BMWCCGB people and the forum owners (the club told the forum owners to do something and the forum owners pointed out the fact that the forum didn't belong to the BMW CCGB) - so the forum split, with the majority of the existing forum users going to the new site.

Chippy, come on over to the new site.... we've dumped the stuffed shirts and are back to business as usual.

thanks Derek, I will indeed, as I assumed I am still able to log in but everytime I do I am reminded of my Cecotto that I had to sell (sold it to Eamon on the forum, thought he would keep it but promptly sold it, which is a real shame as it was a minter, I expect it has been ragged to bits by now) sorry getting emotional!

You should have seen the 'war of words' in the club mag recently! Very sad to see.

So is the new forum just remaining as a forum? or will they create a new car club too?

I ask as I was about to sign up to the BMWCC.

I've 'heard rumours' that there is likely to be another Bavarian enthusiasts club shortly.

I should know more tomorrow as I'm sure one of the 'expelled' members from the club will be at my local meet tonight.

Interesting, keep us posted. IMO I found the BMWCC very snobby and up their own whatsits, hence why I did not renew membership so for me another club would be welcome.
