Our 5 Series estate has started decided that the outside temp is -40 deg C and keeps beeping (warning of ice). Anyone (other than those that live at the North Pole) come across this problem before?

Cheers.

Yes, it is the front temperature sensor which is located on the the passenger side or driver side front dirt guard near the underside of the front bumper. There are 2 types fitted one which is cicular and one which is about 3 inches long. It is the long one which is most likely at fault or come loose or snapped off. There are normally £25+vat from the dealers, you could try eurocarparts they may be cheaper. Once fitted it will start reading the correct temp, no resetting required.

Lovely. I'll take a look later.

Thanks.
