I looked at a set for my Mcoupe a couple of years back, big in europe according to the guy trying to sell them to me ... went with Yokos in the end and currently have Eagle F1s on my Mcoupe.

Not really the track focused tyre that the CSL would have left the factory with.

I've heard the same "big in Europe" comments, and have also read that they are very good in adverse conditions.

If you are planning to move to Scandinavia, or northern Germany then fair enough, but the UK really doesn't get weather that bad for long periods - no matter how much we moan on about it.

Wouldn't be my choice of tyre, and agree that a yoko or similar would be a better choice.

According to a 2005 AutoExpress test they were the best in the wet, just like Uniroyales, but their dry performance was nothing special.

I have a theory.

Perhaps it was someone who got their CSL with Cups, almost stacked it in the wet, filled their pants, and have done a knee-jerk to the safest wet tyres they can find.

Think you may have jumped a conclusion that they are specifically wet weather tyres as that is Vredestein's main market?

These Ultrac ones are their summer tyres.....see the website

admittedly they are probably more conservative than the Michelins

Is there a difference between ENGLISH summer tyres, and wet tyres?
