Ahh, but after owning a 53 plate M3 Convertible and now owning this red 330 saloon.
I think I qualify well, to add my opinion on what fantastic value a 330 saloon is!
Especially when considering the cheapest M3 is still well over double the asking price
of this............... Its certainly not double the car, no matter how good they are.

I'm afraid it's not even close to an M3, and ....this is not the correct forum to advertise it either.

I owned a 330i Sport prior to owning 2 E46 M3s and now an M3 CSL and the 330i was a pleasant enough 'filler' while I waited for my M3s but nothing more than that.

I am assuming perhaps incorrectly that the post was a bit of indirect selling.

Easy guys........Lighten up!! Didnt realise this forum was so serious!

Explanation........
My M3 was a great car (no question), and far better than I ever thought it would be.
To be honest it was a more rewarding car than what it replaced which was a
996 Carrera 2 (which was my dream car)
Having said all this , the 330 was even more suprising. Not from the point of being
a better performance car, but in terms of having........

great performance, great economy, 4 decent/comfortable seats and providing a big lump sum
back into the bank when the M3 was sold.

I think the point is, it's not an alternative to an M3. A wonderful alternative to an M3 would be an RS4 or a C55 or something. A 330i is a "wonderful alternative" to an X-TYPE 3.0 Sport or an Audi A4 3.0 Quattro or something like that.

Oh and, as Catherine said, don't advertise your car for sale on the forums, it simply isn't cricket.

I think we all know that here are far easier ways to advertise, I don't need to play
silly games.

I was simply bored on a saturday night, needing to advertise my
car and remembered I had previous success on pistonheads.
Whilst constructing the ad, and thinking about the last 10 months
of ownership it struck home again just what a suprisingly good car it was a

As previously listed, I had moved from a 53 plate M3, which was fantastic.
The thread was simply to support how through direct ownership of both models
my experience was that a 330 Sport was/is a great alternative although maybe
something that on face value wouldnt seem obvious.

Purchase costs, running costs (fuel, insurance), comfort all being a hugely
attractive quality for alot of car owners and something that are very different
on a 330 compared to an M3

Anyway , with the kind of responses that have been posted.........
indicating that a 330 was comparible to an X5 3.0D or 3.0 X , it was obviously
a waste of time........

Thanks anyway. All the best

I am selling simply as I nolonger have to do 40K miles a year for work!

The worry for economy, running costs is no longer such a major consideration.

A beautiful RS6 Avant is now on the driveway......
