Well, placed the order for a Z4 Coupe today, delivery due in early December. Got a really good deal (over £3.5K off). During the sales process got asked if I wanted the Autoglym Evershine teatment plus some bottles of polish etc for £425. Seemed excessive. What are the best shiny treatments that will last for one or two years, preferably round the £100-200 mark. I think Zymol is much more than this. Any recomendations?

Autoglym lifeshine = £60+vat to the dealer. It's great at that price. Anything more than £150+VAT and imo it's not worthwhile. I'd save some more dosh and get it zymoled personally.

dont even bother with the dealer, if u have the time do it yourself. save the £425 and treat youself to the Zymol Titanium kit! cheaper but its the best your can get. dont let ur dealer touch it. if its swirled then u will need to get it machined polished to make the zymol stand out. i would do it for you but no doubt ur miles away!

Tell the skin flint dealer to chuck it in as a sweetner on the deal. I hope you did try and haggle, even with a car like the Coupe that's going for list or more at the moment. It wouldn't cost them that much to have the Glym treatment done afterall.

yikes

I had a detailer who posts on PH (Glyn O Donnell www.pistonheads.com/gassing/profile.asp?h=0&memberId=54070) do a total Zymol detailing on my old S3, 8 hours of washing, clay bar, polishing and waxing for about half that price. Glyn said that it would last about 6 months but then I'd seriously doubt any treatment could last 1-2 years, IMHO, unless it's sat in the garage.

I got over 10% discount on the price (over £3.5K) and the dealer was starting to get reluctant about any more "sweeteners"! Got a full tank of fuel though...
