Z3 Service Reset Procedure

Is there a way to reset the service lights on a '99 Z3 without going to BMW or buying what I suspect is an overpriced piece of plastic from the internet.
I am servicing the car myself next weekend and want to reset the lights as they've indicated serious servicing due since my battery was replaced at Christmas.
Any feedback is much appreciated.

You can get the reset tools from lots of places, but if you don't want to buy one I'd suggest drifting into (or should that be "mincing into" with a Z3 
) a local independant garage.
There's always plenty of good ol' boys in those places that'll reset your lights for the price of a couple of beers - don't ask them for a receipt though!
