Evening, anyone got one of these yet?

I just traded my 330 cd sport for this.........what a car.....306 bhp, twin turbo. Its very smooth, very qiet but extremely quick!!! I reckon its an M3 in disguise.....

Is that the petrol or diesel?

I drove a 335i Coupe and it was amazing. Definately the direction we may be going when the Porsche goes.

Enjoy it. Congrats.

Personally, not for me, especially when 1yr old E46 M3s with prof nav are going at £32k. Similar spec'd 335i at £40k. Yes the M3 has a chav image, but lose the external model inscriptions, replace the bling 19s with BBS and it is rather subtle!

Its a petrol version. I have just tucked the 997 C4S cab away in the garage for the winter. This is my everyday car!

doesn't the 335 hit 60mph in the same time as a E46 M3? same top end speed too (if unrestricted)

Autocar tested one last week against the Cayman and the 335i did very well indeed. The comment they made about the coupe was that it was as quick in every day driving as an M3 (Or words to that effect).

I would consider a 335i when i am done with the M3 CSL, i just think perhaps the peak power figure is a little disappointing for a 3-litre twin-turbo?
Great car by all accounts, but if i had one i'd be looking to massage that bhp figure upwards a bit.

The trouble with the 'everyday driving' phrase is that on the street, a 330d (320d?) is as quick as a V10 M5 in 'everyday driving'.
I know exactly what they mean, my last car was a remapped 535d, which during the usual course of events stayed with just about anything that had a go, on the road i mean.
But something like this M3 CSL does it's thing less often, but when it does it is mucho fun.

If you mean stuck in a traffic jam at 5mph then the 330d or 320d may be as quick as the E60 M5, but if everyday driving includes anything other than stop start traffic jams then i think not.

absolutely!

I thought my A3 2.0 TDi would be quick enough in 'everyday driving'

you're bloody joking!

I've lot count of the number of ordinary cars that have embarrassed me on sliproads

(although a 335i would suffice I have to say)

They generally mean your drive to work, the trip to the diy store, most journeys are made at (somewhere close to) legal speeds and the latest mid-range cars, like my mapped 535d for example, are quick enough to keep up with theoretically faster cars during normal street use.
